私はどうも記憶力が弱いらしい。過ぎたことはあまり覚えていない。
でも時折ふと、断片的な、どうと言うことの無い景色を思い出す。
猫もまた、すぐに忘れてしまう生き物らしい。誰といたのか、誰がいたのか。
私がしばらく家を空けると、猫は私のことを忘れる。そして帰るとまた、出会う。
何度も何度も出会い直す。
でもきっと、匂いとか、気配とか、幸せだった感じだけは覚えている。猫も。私も。

I may have a weak memory. So I don't remember the past very well. But sometimes I recall some fragmentary scenes that are not so special.
By the way I think a cat also forgets easily. He doesn't remember who was there and with who he was.
When I leave my home for a long time, he forgets me. And when I come back, he meet me again. We meet each other again and again.
But I think he may remember only the feeling he's been happy, and me too.
